If anyone seriously thinks that Shakey could win the WSBK title on a customer bike when he doesn't even know half the circuits, want their heads testing IMO.

Wins at Donington and Silverstone maybe but no title I am afraid.

1. Haga
2. Checa
3. Kiyonari

Marc - you didn't mention Honda. Like Ducati and Suzuki they have a year of data on the bike, but unlike Suzuki and Ducati who only have one strong rider each (in their factory teams) Ten Kate Honda have three strong riders.

If you base it on the bikes I think the Ducati has the advantage especially in the first part of next season with Suzuki not too far behind then Yamaha. The question is the riders. Haga is good but inconsistent which I'm sure Ducati will try to correct. Yamaha was really close but lost its riders, Spies and Sykes will be up there especially toward the second half of the season as these guys get some experience and settle the bike. The wild cards are BMW and Aprilia which should come into form by mid to late season. Anyway you look at it, it should be fun to watch. But Haga may not be an automatic champion even though he starts with an advantage.

I think it's Ben Spies, considering the uneven firing interval of 2009 R1 :D

Im gonna stick my neck out and say Johnny Rea in the top 2

if not, then it'll be interesting to see how many brits we can cram into the top 10 at the end of the season! My money is on 4 of them!

As much as I would like Shakey to win the 2009 title, I think Colin Wright is talking through his well worn back passage. Just look at the facts: Customer bike. 1st time at some of the tracks. It is good to see so many Brits in WSBK next year, rollon 2009!

To summarise - I don't have the faintest idea who will win the championship! Can't wait to find out though!

Damo - you over rate Kiyonari! He is Mr Inconsistent - if he gets a perfect setup and knows the track back to front he is unbeatable, so he will get some wins.

Richard - I agree that Rea will outscore Kiyo. Regarding Byrne - he has the talent, but will he have the bike. Ducati will want Haga to win so he will get the best Ducati - besides the fours have now caught up with the twins and might surpass them over the winter. Neukirchner outscored Kagayama and Nieto with a lower spec bike and a novice crew. With a full spec bike and experienced crew he has to be worth a punt.

If Checa gets plenty of winter development time he may get his mojo back.

When did Corser last win a race?
