The triumph whilst a great bike took 4 times as much money to run in the BSS than a similar jap bike. The motor was tuned to the point of needing a full refresh after every meeting, No wonder Embassy ran out of wonga ehhh.
So i guess there isnt the budget to run in WSS unless your factory backed, its too easy to go and buy an R6 or CBR6 and be in with a chance at a comparativly low cost :)

I''m a bit surprised that Triumph didn''t attempt to salvage a team from the old Embassy racing squad and do a WSS season. That team made the most of the bike far better than the WSS teams, and with Glen Richards on board could have been podium challengers rather than also rans.

No doubt it cost more to run than the Japs, but if Triumph want to make serious sales I think they need to do it. How many 675's have been sold because of what Richards (not forgetting all development done by Paul Young) did this year? I know i'm going to try one. It's proven competitive against the WSS teams already, so all the costly development has been done, it's just a matter of refining it.
