For a West Yorkshire lad to withdraw from testing it must be something serious, probably had his arm bitten of by a lion or something, still it won't stop him being on the pace in a day or two :)

I would imagine that Tom is pretty desperate to get on his bike and not let Spies gain a psychological advantage. It must be pretty bad if he could only manage 16 laps. I think the first day has shown that a)Spies is going to be a real force to be reckoned with and b)WSBK 2009 is gonna be a corker (watch out MotoGP)
