True, Biaggi has done better in his career than Checa and had a better first year in world supers. But this is the top 10 riders of 2008 and Checa had a better year.

He needs to get off the line much better. He is very good on old tyres like most ex-gp, but that alone will not win a race.
He won''t win the title, but he will be fairly strong all round. Can he shake off his nickname - Careless Chucker?

Ze - And where did Max finish compared to Carlos? Oh yeah, lower in the championship.

Chucka also got himself some wins and showed well in plenty of races this season, unlike Max, whose best displays were bottling it against Bayliss in Qatar, almost killing himself at turn one at Philip Island and causing an almost Gibernau-worthy crash at Vallelunga.

^
you judge who's best based in their career, with many bikes, not one season
look at when they were teamates at yamaha in mgp with the same bikes
compare max carrer in mgp/250 and checa's
max's 1st yaear in sbk in a official bike was better than checa's also
checa used the machine JT used to be champion, max a client ducati
change their bikes and see what they can do...

Max had a hugely disapointing year, although doubtless the wrist break had a lot to do with his overall placing at the end of the year. Love him or hate him it would be nice to see him back at the sharp end this year (2009).

ze - when did i say anything about event in GPs or for that matter, anything outside of production-based superbike racing in the 2008 season?

also, Checa didn't use the bike Toseland used to win the championship in '07 because the Blade was an all new machine and Biaggi had a new bike too. not quite sure what your point is to be honest. i suspect a Biaggi fanboy at work!

before you accuse me of being a Checa fan, i think of the two, Carlos should call it a day and Max should carry on acting like a spoilt **** to give us all some entertainment - maybe knock Haga off with another kamikazee move? :p
