5th place in the pole is about right,fast in places he had 2 learn new tyres new team new tracks. they say hes a rider that has to have every thing right 2 go hard,setup ect. if he hadnt of broke his collor bone he would of finnshed the season better.

He was brilliant at the UK rounds... needs to sort out the other circuits as hes always fast but not getting the results he should be. Seeing as this is the WSBK championship that is pretty key! was his first year so much like when he arrived in BSB I think he will be stronger in 2009.

His UK showings and the second race at Monza were immense, but apart from that he's had a pretty pedestrian season. Especially when you compare how Checa managed all season and how Rea performed at Portimao.

He was like that in the BSB as well - I think he won the last 2 races in his first year then somebody lit the blue touch paper and he was off. Guess he takes a while to learn tracks and get comfortable.
