Wonder if Mr Schumacher might make an appearance on a 3rd bike then as he's been riding KTMs a fair bit this year.

I think they rather tip-toe around the national championships first. Wonder what would happen if they threw themselves into the deep end at WSBK next year alongside BMW and Aprilia...

The KTM's weren't very reliable in Superstock in 2008. I think they would have gone into WSB in 009 if they had been successful in 2008. This gives them another year to develop the bike and find reliability before an assault on WSB in 2010.

Don't forget that KTM built (or had a contract to build and then backed out of it) engines for Kenny Roberts Sr's team in MotoGP for a while. I can't remember if they did build them and they just sucked, or if they were supposed to and backed out of it. I think they did build them and they weren't any good :? Didn't last the season? I can't remember :(

KTM did build the engines for KR, but they were under-developed when compared to the Jap Teams, and of course Ducati. If my memory serves me proper, I think they pulled out mid-season and TeamKR had to use their own V5 and it was SEVERELY UNDER-POWERED...

This is so funny. Well not really. So KTM pull out of 250's and then say they'll have a go in SBK. I don't expect them to stay there very long before they decide that they want to try something else. The only major road racing series they've stuck at is 125's. No persistance.
