Ever the humble gentleman, Spies recognized and complimented his close rivals. I've yet to see Fabrizio or Haga say anything about Spies that would be 1/2 complimentary. I think they have that Euro arrogance and refuse to recognize he's there. Proof was the wave Fabio gave to Ben down the straight at Monza in race 2, only to be wasted off within the lap to lose by 6 seconds. Though Spies still shows respect. Call him boring, call him whatever, He's in a Masterclass, and he's got class as a person. GO SPIES

WSBK » Spies pleased to be back on top

Ben Spies is confident he would have been the man to beat during Superpole, regardless of whether rain had scuppered the efforts of his closest rivals.

Haga has been complimentary and has always been a class fellow. He and Ben get on well, from everything you hear. Fabio though.... yea that little wave at Monza... some of his comments... it's a litle early but it's starting to look like he is something of a punk-ass. Played Div1 sports in college and I used to just love fixing guys like that. Oops, dang, that's gonna leave a mark.

Right on K1ngs r0w!

Schnertz in California, ktmken, Pam & the rest of these Spies nuthugging blowhards are so tedious with their hero worship comments already. Can't wait for Haga to clinch the title so these bores can get on with their mundane pathetic lives.

Congratulations Big Ben! So much for the theory that nobody else had a chance to set a fast lap time b/c of the rain.

We'll be cheering you on to victory tomorrow, come rain or shine!

I have to agree with Schnertz in California. I've seen Haga say maybe 1 or 2 things good about Spies ALL year in an interview but, at the same time I haven't heard him have a go at Spies either. It seems Spies respects him more. Just about every post race interview Spies is in he pays respect to Haga. He even mentioned Haga during the Miller post race interviews and Haga wasn't even a force in either of the races! I think it's been a slap in the face to Haga to have a guy like Spies, a rookie, to come in and dominate him and everyone else 99% of the time. Haga may be a fair man but, if Spies comes back and snags the title from him, I don't know if he'll be all that gracious in defeat.

Another Pole - outstanding achievement.
Let's hope the mechanical aspect of Spies bike is in order and let's watch what should be a very good set of races.
Let's also hope we get a clean start without any demolition derby breaking out.

Check out Mladin's twitter comments about Spies' new Mech. Mladin's a tad out of line IMO. Awesome job by Spies. Man I hope Spies stays in superbike.

On the arrogance thing, I don't think it's so. WSBK has never seen anything like Spies. They're shocked. That Yam is not the best bike out there. I've watched Spies since he was 16 years old and I'm shocked.

I read Mladin's twitter, I don't see how he was out of line?
Granted, the Mechanic was not under a contract however, it's disrespectful non the less to leave your team in the middle of the season. Maybe he discussed it with the team before hand maybe not.
Reminds me of someone stealing somebody's crew chief.........

To me this situation confirms that Suzuki will not be in the AMA at a factory level. Can't blame the guy for going to Yam. Yeah similar to the Edwards feud at tech 3.

Good stuff.
