2007 championship 6th sykes stobart honda (rookie of the year) 279pts. 8th camier 199pts bike animal honda 199pts. 9th crutchlow rizla suzuki 152pts. 2008 championship 3rd crutchlow hm plant honda 318pts. 4th sykes rizla suzuki 316pts 316pts. 5th camier airwaves ducati 306pts. sykes jumped on a suzuki that crutchlow couldn't ride, took twice as many points and moved it five places up the championship.sykes is doing exactly what yamaha expect from him, learning the tracks, getting data and finishing high enough for a rookie year to ride for them next year and thats where he will be next year.

Brilliant riding yet again from leon. I really hope someone gives him a decent ride in WSB next season. If he hadn't wrote off his only decent bike on Saturday morning then he could have been challenging for a podium. Needs to work on his starts though :-)

Have to agree, to finish one place behind tom on a factory bike, and do it when outside top 20 first lap. pretty good. either leon or cal should have that ride.

Camier is much better than Sykes in my opinion. A great showing at Donnington and a very good gifterd 2nd race with all the crashers.

I don't think this weekend did Leon any harm at all. He got to see how competetive WSBK is, showed the paddock he can run with them and kept his eye in for next week in Knockhill. I guess he will want to step up sooner rather than later to the world level, I just hope he is not too hasty. Just like anyone, he needs the right bike, right team at the right time. Just maybe WSS might be the way to go in 2010 ? A top ride there would be better than a poor one in WSBK.

john, remember that in 2007 camier missed the last three rounds with his injuries from cadwell and up to than he was just as quick riding the fireblade as Rea and Kiyo on the Hm plant bikes, and tom was also on a blade so maby leon and tom are closer in talent than you think? just a thought.

Most of the stories this weekend have been about Rossi's 100th win, but without doubt the story of the weekend has to be Camier's stunning performances at Donnington.

The way he fought back from so low on the grid to come so close to victory (twice), on a bike clearly down on power on the competition, goes to show who the real 'greatest ever' should be. Leon constantly shows traits of all of the great world chmapions of grand prix racing (Rossi, Agostini, Hayden), but builds on that and is rapidly becoming a living legend in the eyes of so many fans.

I hope he'll get a decent BSB ride at an experianced and well funded team for next season, so he can really show what he is capable of.

Was that supposed to be sarcasm The Ben? If so, it really wasn't funny.
