They need a new young hungry rider on that bike next year. If Biaggi makes a good start and is in the clear he has a good result, but if he is in traffic or close competition he just goes backwards.

You see riders like Spies, Laverty, Crutchlow, Camier and Rea have a bad start or drop it and they pass rider after rider. With Biaggi that just does not happen even with riders much lower down the pack. Nearly all his passes have been down the straight using the superior power of the Aprilia! If it was a time trial Biaggi would be great, but this is racing. :)

That's good news, hopefully it will translate to improved times and places at the following races. It would be great to see Biaggi win a race or two this year on the new bike.

I think the times achieved are not that great! The top riders should get under 2 mins. I am really curious how the track will suit to Ben.

I still think Edwards would be the best choice. Though he might not have excelled at motogp he was a great sbk rider and is far better at bike developement than Biagi. They would be a very strong team.

My only concern would be The Roman Emperors ego....

Max would have Edwards beat at ballet, hands down. I'm sure it wouldn't be the first time Max wore a tu-tu either. :D

Developing a bike, Edwards hands down. There's a reason he's been kept in GP's for so long.

One can't compare times from a test session to that of qualifying and a race on a completely different day. Bin the bike, it impedes testing.

How many times has Colin beat Rossi? How many times has Max beat Rossi? I'm more of a Colin fan than a Max fan myself but I think Max would win out long term head to head, Aprilia to Aprilia.

Voltaire - whether Colin still has what it takes to win championships on a superbike - I don't know, but I expect so. He beat Bayliss on what appeared to be equal machinery so in my book that makes him the best superbike champion of the post Fogarty era.

Max on the other hand was a genius on a 250 and the first rider to win his debut race in the premier GP class since the late great Jarno Saarinen in 1972.

A close call, but at the moment - on a superbike I would gamble on Colin!

I hope Colin comes to Yamaha Italia next year or the year after - I think he's the right man to follow on when Ben trades up.

RC51 - he developed that one well enough to take the WSB title.
