Camier, Kiyonari miss out in Q1

Leon Camier will start a disappointing 17th for his World Superbike Championship debut after losing out during the opening phase of Superpole at Donington Park.

Recovering from an accident during second qualification, one that prevented him from riding his number one bike in Superpole, Camier was bumped down to the fifth row by a flurry of quick late times. He would miss out on progressing by just a tenth.

Equally surprising was the loss of 2008 race winner Ryuichi Kiyonari, the Japanese rider only managing 20th on the grid, while countryman and former BSB rider Yukio Kagayama also missed out in 18th to end a dismal day for the Suzuki team.

Lorenzo Lanzi, who had been top ten after provisional qualifying, will start between them in 19th.
