Haga undergoes successful operation

Noriyuki Haga will travel home to Italy today having undergone a successful operation to his fractured ulna, where doctors inserted a plate and screws to set the bone.

Haga was operated on at Derby Hospital, just a day after his vicious accident during the second World Superbike Championship race at Donington Park, with doctors labelling the surgery as having been successful with no unforeseen complications.

In addition, however, closer inspection has revealed that the shoulder pain Haga was suffering was due to multiple fractures in the left scapula. However, it will not need surgical intervention and won't prolong his overall recovery process.

Set to be discharged today [Tuesday], Ducati Xerox rider Haga will not be present at the upcoming mid-season tests at Imola, but he is expected to compete in the next round at Brno, Czech Republic.

"Must be nice to be a pro athlete and get a surgery a couple days later. I screwed my knee up 5 weeks ago and I can't even see a doc for 2 more weeks "

Do you live in England or something?
