Round three abandoned

The planned Asian excursion for round three of the 2007-08 A1 Grand Prix series has been canned after organisers were unable to agree terms with potential venues.

Sentul had been expected to return to the schedule but, when talks there broke down, other venues were brought into the equation. However, despite ongoing discussions, series organisers were unable to reach a satisfactory agreement for the event scheduled for 2–4 November, leaving a five-week gap between rounds two and three, now at Brno and Sepang respectively.

In addition, the second half of the calendar has also been rejigged after talks with local authorities led to the original date for the Shanghai round being pushed back a week, from 4-6 April to 11-13 April, to better coincide with other regional events and activities.

The revised calendar is as follows:

September 30 Zandvoort
October 14 Brno
November 25 Sepang
December 16 Zhuhai
January 20 Taupo
February 3 Sydney
February 24 Durban
March 16 Mexico City
April 13 Shanghai
May 4 Brands Hatch
