Firstly Anna Bligh is the premier of QLD. Paul Lucas is a cabinet member.
Greg in his statement places a strong emphasis on the V8 Paddock.
IMG may be in place to protect the taxpayer but what about the ticket purchaser who may not experience the full event as anticipated.
Greg I think has also been listening to supposition in lieu of definitive facts.
If their were any fears that A1GP will not appear why are all the interested parties nervous.
Teams if required are seeking Visas. Why now and not before.

Tell us Greg when are A1Gp in breach.

What about the test period and FIA criteria which has to be met.

The cars have been impounded since May how can they be deemed ready.

If I could turn the page
In time then Id rearrange just a day or two
Close my, close my, close my eyes

But I couldnt find a way
So Ill settle for one day to believe in you
Tell me, tell me, tell me lies

Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
(tell me lies, tell me, tell me lies)
Oh, no, no you cant disguise
(you cant disguise, no you cant disguise)
Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies

Although Im not making plans
I hope that you understand theres a reason why
Close your, close your, close your eyes

No more broken hearts
Were better off apart lets give it a try
Tell me, tell me, tell me lies

Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
(tell me lies, tell me, tell me lies)
Oh, no, no you ca

Whilst I respect your view even the home website of A1GP acknowledges the cars do not meet FIA standards such as side intrution bars etc. Our safety admin CAMS will not allow the cars on any circuit until upgrades are completed to standard.
I do not wish to be cynical in any manner but I really can not see how the time frame is sufficient for the cars to be present at event.
As for a test period any driver/team would insist upon this given the cars have been impounded for such a period. It just makes commonsense from a safety aspect.
Surfers is a street circuit with no room for error otherwise concrete awaits.

Regards

Unfortunately We do not fit within the Indy calender. They terminated their association in 2008.
The QLD Govt in their wisdom chose to go down the road of A1GP against the advice of the Motorsport Fraternity. What the Surfers Promoters wanted was overseas exposure to highlight the Gold Coast and seen A1GP as the path with the event underwritten by IMG MEDIA who would control overseas T.V viewing.
Well the whole aspect has now blown up in their faces.

V8 Supercars who were sharing the event have now instigated damage control and are also aligned to IMG Media. The V8 Supercar Industry is our pinnacle Motorsport category who are lush with funds.

Rick, I am with you. Australia should bring back the IRL IndyCar Series. The good people down under deserve nothing less than the greatest single seater series on the planet!
