A1 confirms Mexican finale

A1GP has announced that Mexico City will play host to the final round of season four on the weekend of 22-24 May.

The announcement will mark the first time that Mexico has played host to the final round of the campaign and will ensure that it remains a fixture on the calendar, having featured in each season since season two.

The move to make Mexico the final round of the year is subject to the completion of FIA stipulated track changes to secure the necessary licence, with work due to start soon.

“It is very important for the series to go back to Mexico City, especially as it won the award for being the best run event of Season Three,” A1GP CEO Pete da Silva said. “The fans have always given us a warm welcome, and it will be great to let them witness the finale of what has been a very exciting first season for the A1GP Powered by Ferrari cars.”
