France go with Prost for China.

A1 Team France has announced that Nicolas Prost will be at the wheel for the second round of the 2008/09 season this weekend in China.

Having taken part in the recent test session at Silverstone, Prost will take the place of Loic Duval, who took a victory during the opening rounds at Zandvoort but is unable to take part this weekend at Chengdu.

“I'm very happy to be part of A1 Team France's Chinese adventure this weekend, and I'm determined to give my all, as the team's currently sharing the lead with Malaysia,” Prost said. “I felt at home straight away in the new car, and I set competitive times in my first test behind the wheel.

“I'm tackling this meeting with confidence, and I'll take things step by step.”

Team sporting director Olivier Panis said he was pleased to give Prost his chance and said he was confident that the youngster will impress.

“We've made a great start to the 2008-09 championship and we feel it's time to give Nicolas his chance,” he said. “Since last season he's done a great job for the team, and seems ready to take up the challenge posed by the race.

“We'll do everything we can to make his weekend as easy as possible, and we're convinced his performance in China will be an eye-opener for many people!”
