Jenson Button and Sergio Perez look to clear the air following the Bahrain Grand Prix

"As a team we will move forward and live to fight another day. Roll on Barcelona."

We already know Jenson is not a team player, so could someone translate this into something which makes sense.
Does he mean he has secured team orders?

Even Perez is saying that he was a "bit to hard" so I don't understand why everyone is complaining so much about Jenson's comments on the radio.

His adrenalin was rushing and of course you'll say things without thinking too much but he was laughing and joking on Sky after the when he calmed down.

He didn't ask for team orders he just asked the team to tell Perez to "calm down" which suggests to any race fan as be a bit more careful and as aggressive!

Ok Liam48, i see your point. But his laughing and joking on Sky i saw as a nervous reaction, too much adrenalin maybe. You must have seen him squirm back from the rule breaking accusation ?

To be honest I never heard all the interview only 10 seconds before work but if Perez was saying his driving wasn't as safe as it should have been & you also have Alonso, Hamilton & Raikkonen aren't happy with Perez then there must be something wrong with the way he is driving.

Button enjoys good fun racing as he said but I can understand his anger if your team mate starts wheel banging you on a straight at 300kmh.

Jenson was perhaps surprised by the speed Perez was able to deliver. Barcelona on should be interesting to see if they have come to a gentlemans agreement which is not a team order.

Its all a bit of a storm in a teacup really as teammates seldom run so close to each other. It happens now and then as with Vettel and Webber and the drivers just have to be sensible about it. Both Button and Perez were aggressive and will probably react rather differently if it happens again, after all their not likely to be fighting for the lead any time this season so it would be pretty pointless having an avoidable accident.

@elijah I expect Button wont let Perez do that to him again, I think Button will reassert his authority on Perez.

Also if the same incident happened at Red Bull, Ferrari, Lotus, Mercedes the WC there would have been vocal over radio especially Alonso & Vettel.

As I have said last year and still believe, Perez seems to only do well over a few races and doesn't have the consistency and isn't as big a talent as Hamilton and Button managed to run Hamilton hard over 3 years so I don't think Perez will beat Button much this year.

Whitmarsh has encouraged Perez to drive hard and Button is whining and brake testing. As the car improves it seems to me that Perez will be the one to get more from the car, to assert himself over the course of the season.
