Having missed out on a home win late on at Lime Rock, Patron Highcroft Racing pair David Brabham and Scott Sharp will look to break the winning streak of the de Ferran Motorsport team as the American Le Mans Series heads for Mid-Ohio.
Sharp and Brabham had made the most of strong strategy to lead late on at Lime Rock before a puncture forced the team to pit with little more then ten minutes left – leaving Gil de Ferran and Simon Pagenaud to take a third straight win.
After that disappointment, Highcroft will now head to a circuit where they finished as the top Acura squad in the LMP2 class in 2008 at the start of a busy period where the team will race on three weekends out of four.
"We had a very strong performance at Lime Rock Park and on the back of that, I am really looking forward to heading to Mid Ohio,” Brabham said. "It is a little tight and twisty, but there are a lot of corners which are very challenging with some good elevation changes and blind corners as well.
"It really is the type of circuit where you have to have the car working really well but you can also really hustle the car around the track and get a lot of reward.
"We had some bad luck at Lime Rock but we have to focus and keep doing everything right. We had a good look at ourselves after Salt Lake City and examined every area where we could improve. Those improvements put us in a winning position at Lime Rock, only for bad luck to intervene."
