Le Mans 24 Hours victor and American Le Mans Series champion, David Brabham has confirmed that he will once again host an exclusive free workshop for karters at the Karting Show at Autosport International 2010, held at the NEC Birmingham.

The sportscar legend, who runs the Brabham Performance Clinic and the MSA's British Race Elite programme, will share the fundamentals a driver must master in order to progress in their chosen motorsport career, in a special workshop at 10.30am on Saturday 16 January.

The special session is timed to coincide with the attendance of young drivers from the Formula Kart Stars and Super One national kart championships, who will be in attendance at Autosport International to receive their 2009 awards.

Born in Britain and the youngest son of triple F1 World champion, Sir Jack Brabham, the Australian's illustrious career stretches from karting through British Formula 3 to F1, F3000, touring cars, GT and sports prototype racing. The 2009 season proved a stellar year for Brabham, bringing home the Le Mans 24 Hours spoils for Team Peugeot Total and American Le Series laurels for Patron Highcroft Racing.

"Through my Brabham Performance Clinic and role for the MSA's British Race Elite initiative, I work with many young drivers. Whatever your age, the principles behind building a winning mentality to take you to the top of the sport are the same," commented Brabham. "At the Brabham Performance Clinic, we highlight the areas that can impact on performance and concentrate on a driver's self-awareness. About how you conduct yourself and how that influences others around you.

"It's a pleasure to work in partnership with the Karting Show at Autosport International once again. Motorsport is a fiercely competitive industry and I hope the workshop will help a small group of drivers to understand themselves more, to help them to go on and achieve whatever they want to in life."

The free Karting Workshop is available for 25 karters, who must be MSA licence holders aged between 12 and 17 years. To book your place, visit www.thekartingshow.co.uk and complete the online form.

Workshop participants must have a valid ticket for Autosport International on Saturday.
