Field escapes monster Sebring shunt

Jon Field has been released from hospital following a huge accident during testing for the opening round of the American Le Mans Series at Sebring.

The Intersport Racing driver rolled his Lola-AER between turns nine and ten, with the car getting airborne and flipping a number of times.

The car eventually came to a rest on its wheels with field being take to the circuit medical centre before being transferred to Highlands Regional hospital for further observation.

Field was then released from hospital on Monday evening, with Intersport now facing the prospect of switching to its spare car for the race on Sunday.

The Lola had been quickest during the afternoon session at the time of the accident.
