Just like everybody, my expectations about Dovizioso were much higher. He made a disappointing season on the factory Honda.

In fact, I think Hayden got clearly better results, but was unlucky to be injured by midseason.

That's not true about Hayden just look at where both riders ended up in the standings that's not all due to bad luck. Hayden has always been mediocre at best. Not that Dovi is great but he's better and has more upside potential than Hayden. But that said he has only one year left to prove he can improve especially with big name riders possibly available in 2011.

On the subject of testing, I'd agree with Dovi that it's too little especially for struggling riders. However, at Honda it appears that both Pedrosa and Dovi as well as past riders like Hayden have no clue on developing a bike. Some may argue that because of the Honda Factory stubberness and that's probably partially true but the other part is the riders input. After Rossi and Biaggi left the team went down hill. Pedrosa has lots of talent and seems to ride around problems but he doesn't seem to have the ability to translate the needed changes like Rossi and his team did. If HRC is smart they'd get into party to try to get Rossi back. I'm sure Yamaha would hate that more than a Ducati switc

Marc, you seem to be a Nicky hater ,maybe you are a Rossi fanboy that is jealous that Nicky Hayden kicked Rossi's butt in 2006. After Honda put a decent motor in the 800 ,and after Hayden came back from his heel injury last year, Nicky was on the podium twice ,and set the race lap record at Phillip Island ,which was not broken this year . Nicky was even better then Dovy this year on the Ducati the 2nd half of the season when he was not ran off the track . I expect Hayden ,and Spies to be fighting for Podiums next year, Dovy will be lucky to finish in the top 8 in points next year .

Kicked Rossi's butt? He won 2 races (one where Edwards would have beaten him had he not straight lined the last chicane and another on a circuit he had years of experience on), get real!

Hayden kick Rossi's butt the gap was only 5 points in the 2006 championship it was close not a hammering.

IMO I would say Hayden did better then Dovi on the Repsol Honda 2 podiums 1 fastest lap 155 oints Dovi 1 win 160 points. Repsol will be on the look out for new riders if things do not improve in 2010.

Why is it no matter what story I read on here, someone always brings up Nicky Hayden or the 06 championship. He won it let it go for God
s Sake. It's how championships work the rider with the most points,(weather wins, consistancy, alien intervention, act of God, whatever) wins the title. Can we please talk about the current topics. And by the way I' am an American and Nicky Hayden fan, so please unless the stroy's about him lets keep the Hayden 06 bashing or praising out of it.
