Bikes » Andrea Dovizioso - Q&A

"The 800cc MotoGP machines need to be easy to ride to the limit, not like the 990cc, which were so powerful and heavy that you skidded and that was normal" - Andrea Dovizioso

Not one rider at Honda is convinced about anything about this bike. The ray of hope Dovi sees and can capitalise on with this bike is its new rearward mass shift and high C of G. Reason, he's always been very good on the brakes and the front end. Dani battles a bit to muscle it. Front end effort is what kept Dovi in touch with Sic on the Aprilia(Gilera). Ditto, Aoyama. I guess at this stage, Dovi and Hiro are quietly smiling within RC212V 2010 realms.
Early days, it can all change in a flash come Quatar testing.

Southerner good analysis but you're right Dovisioso maybe more positive about the new bike but not totally satisfied as he eluded. It seems he's happier with the Ohlins moreso than Pedrosa which is due to the amount of time Pedroas has been on Showa suspension. I wonder if Dovi is having the same issues with the chassis as Pedrosa is? Has the engine performance dropped for Honda due to trying to squeeze out the longevity of it's engine for the new rules.

Interesting that he says he's asking for a lot of changes to the bike from HRC, and that he's getting them, while Pedrosa sounds like he doesn't have a clue what he wants, or how to fix what he doesn't like.

IMO, the Pedrosa experiment at HRC should be over. Let someone else develop the bike who knows how to give useful data to HRC engineers.

It also makes the last 5 races of Nicky's time on the Honda that much more telling. "Nicky doesn't get to see Dani's data anymore" followed by 5 out of 5 races in the top 5, with 2 on the podium. Dani's data.. that's a laugh.

Agreed with DC its time to disconnect the Pedrobot.
Odd how Dovi's commnents contrast with Dani's
Honda is in some deep S$%t cant say I feel sorry for them after killing 250s and 500s serves them right for trying to fix the sport in their favor.

Honda's biggest mistake was believing there own bullshit. Telling the world that it's 80% bike and 20% rider was an insult to every-body's intelligence. Most of all Rossi's. He told them to stick the contract where the sun don't shine, and if it wasn't for Nicky they have done diddly squat.Love the riders, hate the brand. Honda has always been arrogant and hope they never win another title. They make good lawn mowers and wippa sniper's though.
