“When I'm on the bike it's the only time I feel properly free. It's all my own choices - what I can do and where I can take it” - Josh Brookes.

True, but if he feels HM Plant Honda in BSB was too 'corporate' and controlling then its very unlikely that he would ever survive in MotoGP, or even WSB for that matter.
He might want to just ride the bike but whether he likes it or not he is reliant on a factory, team & sponsors to enable that to happen. He might feel 'free' when he rides the bike but that freedom is as much an illusion as any other notion of freedom.

Quite a straight shooting interview there!
He'll not be getting a Honda ride anytime soon, and if you want to win a TT, that's your best chance.
I was very critical and angry when josh first appeared on the bsb scene for the reasons he has mentioned, but it's good to see that he hasn't forgotten them. When he hit Simon Andrews, I was particularly peeved. Life goes on, though.
Good on yer, Josh!

I have to agree that this is a very honest interview and with the corporate control over things then i can see why he would be peeved with the way he was perceived when he first arrived in the uk.
There is no doubting the guy has talent and my view is the championship is better with him in it.he impressed at the TT and for a newcomer you must say it was outstanding. I have spoken to him a few times at Fans time at races and he is always polite and willing i can see why racers would be focused and find signing photos disruptive but when you see the faces of some of the lesser riders when you ask for a signing the pleasure they get from it is brilliant.
I will keep following Josh and i will be at Cadwell taking photos as without doubt he is King Of the Mount.
Good on you Josh there are British fans who follow and support you and take great pleasure in watching you race.

As far as I'm concerned, I find Josh's attitude to racing refreshing. He always goes for the pass and I like the fact that he never settles. In these days of managed PR, it's great to have someone who talks straight.

Josh comes off as a real good guy and I really love these Crash.net interviews for getting a look at the real person. Great job and keep the interviews coming. Anyone know if there is a way to sort the articles for these interviews?
