Nathan Kinch took victory on the very last corner of round two of the British GT Championship at Donington Park, after a superb race-long battle with the Tomlinson/Greensall TVR.

The Cup Class was once again the domain of Jonathan Rowland and Phil Hindley.

Kinch's Scuderia Ecosse Ferrari 360 Modena caught and passed Lawrence Tomlinson's TVR T400 on the last lap of a slightly shortened race, as the TVR racer slipped onto the grass at the chicane when rain began to fall. Kinch's driving partner, Scotsman Andrew Kirkaldy, had earlier driven a fantastic opening stint to lead the race by twelve seconds before handing the car over.

A delighted Kinch was surprised, but delighted, with the result after a disappointing result in Saturday's season opener.

"I took it easy on my first few laps out, as the Ferrari is a bit tail-happy anyway, and there was debris on different parts of the circuit," he explained, "When the rain came down, I knew I had to go for it, as I thought our car would be better than their's. It's a great result for the team."

Peter Kox had pulled out an early lead over the similarly Porsche-mounted Tim Sugden at the start of the race, but a misunderstanding of the driver changeover rules saw the Dutchman's team-mate, Ian Khan, receive a 40-second stop-go penalty in the second half of the race, dropping them out of the lead. Third place was their consolation at the chequered flag.

Neil Cunningham managed to bring home the Embassy Racing Corvette C5R in fourth place, with Jonathan Cocker taking the Sugden-started car to fifth. Richard Stanton and Bobby Verdon-Roe brought the Rollcentre Racing Mosler MT900R home in sixth.

It was two out of two for the Tech 9 Motorsport pairing of Rowland and Hindley in the Cup Class. Adam Wilcox and Ni Amorim had to settle for second place once again, with Keith Ahlers and Aaron Scott taking third in the Morgan Aero 8.
