Scott optimistic of solid season

Aaron Scott says he is optimistic of taking the fight to the Ferrari teams heading into the 2008 Avon Tyres British GT Championship.

Scott, who finished second in the GTC class last season alongside Andrew Howard in the Beechdean Ferrari, moves back into GT3 for the coming season alongside Britcar and Porsche graduate Craig Wilkins in a Dodge Viper run by the ABG Motorsport team.

Unlike many of their rivals, the pair have already wracked up plenty of pre-season miles with the car having started testing almost as soon as it arrived from French company Oreca, with Scott admitting things had been going well so far.

"British GT is looking strong in this year and it's going to be a fantastic season," he said. "Because the team got the car last November we've already got the car working well and we've already gelled as a team well before the season has started.

"The Viper is very consistent at all the circuits and last year proved to be the class of the field. We are very optimistic of some great results and taking on all those Ferraris."
