Phiroze Bilimoria will finally get his chance to race Team RPM's Porsche 997 GT3 in the final round of the Avon Tyres British GT Championship at Silverstone.
The Indian racer was due to race the car at Rockingham back in August alongside Nigel Redwood only for gearbox failure during the Friday testing session to force the duo to switch to one of the teams GTC class 996 models.
With parts proving to be hard to find, the Porsche was then unavailable for the last round at Brands Hatch, with Bilimoria stepping into the GT2 class Monaro of Emotional Engineering instead.
However at the third time of asking, the MPG-backed will finally get to race the GT3 spec Porsche in the two hour Silverstone race.
“It'll be great to finally able to race the 997,” he said. “I've been really looking forward to it.”
For the meeting, Bilimoria will be partnered by Bradley Ellis, who has won three times in the GTC class for RPM during his first season in the championship.
“The programme to support Phiroze has worked wonders for the profile of our organisation and all the guests that have attended the previous two races have had a fantastic time,” MPG's Michael Gallucci said. “We are looking forward to Silverstone and wish Phiroze and Brad all the best.”
