RPM owner Robin Mortimer passes away
Robin Peter Mortimer, owner of RPM Motorsport, sadly passed away late on Tuesday, 22 June, aged 58.

It is understood that Robin died of natural causes in his sleep at a hotel in Belgium, while travelling with his team en route to Spa-Francorchamps.

Alex Mortimer, Robin's British GT Championship-winning son, hopes to compete in the International GT Open taking place at Spa this weekend, alongside Peter Bamford, in honour of his father.

Highly-respected throughout the industry, Robin's lifelong motorsport career spanned two and four-wheeled racing. The son of renowned grand prix driver Charles Mortimer and brother to multiple TT winner Chas, Robin switched to sportscar racing in 1989 after a 35-year career as a rider, making many motorcycle grand prix appearances.

RPM Motorsport's multiple accolades include the 2007 British GT Championship title, secured by Alex Mortimer and Bradley Ellis in the RPM Dodge Viper; the 2007 Radical Enduro SR3 crown; FIA GT3 European Championship podiums with Bradley Ellis partnering Ed Morris in 2007; and runner-up in the Porsche Carrera Cup with Tim Harvey in 2004.

Robin's wife Bridget, fondly known as Biddy, and Alex are grateful for the continued messages of condolence and support but respectfully request privacy at this difficult time. Further statements will be issued in due course.

Very sad news reaches mde in Valencia.

Important to note that Robin also benefitted Superbike racing in the UK with his investment in the Old Spice Ducati tam in 1996.

My thoughts are with Biddy and Oliver...RIP Robin
