If that's the reason he should be suspended as long as SG is unfit to race

A very light sentance. He not only failed to ride with due care and attention, but also lied about it - effectively trying to scapegoat a very experienced and reliable team (who have already put up with his visa mistake). A ban for the length of Guintoli's injury would be much fairer - but that would leave the already-threadbare BSB grid down by two more 'star' riders.

He should be banned until Guintoli returns - punishment fitting the crime and all that.

Saying that, James Webb got nothing for torpedo-ing Dennis Hobbs last season at Thruxton and Dennis almost lost the use of his arm it was so serious...

Yep, we saw the crash on TV briefly.

It was clearly a MAJOR misjudgement from Josh that's deprived us of one of the big players for the title this year for part of the season, but we're familiar with Josh from WSS - he's no maniac, just made a massive error on this occasion. He's not even particularly a crasher.

So whilst I'm pretty p-ed off with him to say the least, I don't think that a full-on ban is really the appropriate response. He may have had a rotten time since he's been in Britain, but he's no criminal.

Little tip for Josh - WARM UP LAP, get it?? The first lap of the RACE is when you need to RACE.... and he's classed as one of best riders to leave Australia - god help us.

Are there any rules in BSB for how hard to ride on a sighting lap?

There are no rules about how fast you should or shouldn't go on a sighting lap, and in every bike series in the world you'll see guys doing vastly different speeds.

Normally when a guy is just cruising around he will stay off the racing line in case faster guys are coming past, Brookes obviously thought thats what Guinters was doing. It was a big mistake by Brookes, but not something he's ever done before. He's not a dangerous rider.
