Not the best of weeks for French Superbike riders really. Nor for anyone in the MCN Fantasy Road Race competition with Laconi or Guintoli either :?.
Thankfully not me... I had Ellison from day 1 :p

Big Tip for LittleG..... It takes 2 to tango. Josh should have shown much, much more care.... Sylvain should perhaps have been off the racing line.... But to go Aussie bashing is pathetic and juvenile. Both riders are class acts and will remain so. Josh has won 2 rounds in WSS (one as a wild card !) and did win the SS / SBK double in Aussie. So pull ya head in mate...

It's a bit ironic how this happened to Sylvain. Anyone remember the Sylvain and Hoffman incident at the top of the corkscrew last year?

I'm sure that Brookes did not mean it - a racing incident pure and simple . The only real loser is BSB. With so few top riders and so many visits to r****-dink circuits in the middle of nowhere we need all the quality people at big circuits that we can get to prevent it becoming an Airwaves benefit show (no insult intended Colin W)

Not meaning is no excuse. Seems he messed up and lied about it, so one race is a very light senntence.
Anyway , wish SG a quick recovery, but can't avoid thinking of kharma ... laguna seca, alex hoffmann

Nacnud! How could it be a racing incident when you are not racing until the end of the sighting lap. It was a silly mistake and racing speeds are not expected by anyone on this lap as it is designed to check out the circuit, bikes and tyres before racing begins.

Its a bloody shame, it was a good couple of races but not at all what it should have been like, i was expecting an epic with SG knowing the circuit & also brooks having riden here leon was quick it should have been a nail biter, but well done CW for putting up a spirited race lets see more of that from Chris & also Andrews n Da costa good to see the grteen machines back n working well, the ban is more of a formality maybe? organisers are dambed both ways? yes he deserves a punishment but we loose in the end with less riders to race & brooks can do that well. lets hope that Sylvan gets well soon & is back racing, i wish him a speedy recovery, as for Rutter riding the Suzuki? im not sure, GL

I think the bigger issue here is why it was claimed by Brookes that the brakes failed (when it later showed he was approaching racing speeds just before the incident) and how the bike apparently had brakes both before and after the crash? Seems to me like he was trying to duck from blame and has been found out. (Something McLaren in F1 were accused of only recently) I would have thought better of him if he had just held his hand up and admitted it was an unfortunate mistake from the start.

Agreed that the lie was probably worse than the mistake. HM Plant should probably issue their own punishment, as a statement that such behaviour is not acceptable. Motorcycle racing is a dangerous sport and it requires people to ride sensibly and with total concentration, and crucially with respect for your fellow competitors - something Brookes has completely breached here.
