"What I am concerned about is that they are not told by Yamaha just to ride to help Spies' cause"

LOL. Yamaha doesn't have to tell them anything. Since Spies was here last year, they will be behind him anyway!

When James Ellison raced Spies in the AMA it wasn't too pretty for Ellison. If he was a little off the pace I would say its down the the corona team not being up to par, but he wasn't just a little off the pace. I don't see these two doing anything to either Spies or Haga.

Comparing haga's lap times on the old R1 from two years ago to Camier's this year with a wsbk spec 09 R1 isn't convincing. I am sure both Camier and Ellison will have great races, and a win is not impossible, but don't act as if its likely. Spies and Haga have consistently finished ahead of leon haslem, not to mention obliterating sykes, byrne, and kiyonari, so the BSB isn't all golden.

@Featherz- I agree, Leon's a class act and it's a case of when rather than if...GSE should look towards putting a WSB entry together for 2010 anyway as they've outgrown BSB.In the meantime, can't wait to see Leon sticking it up Spies,Haga et al.

Great news for Airwaves.
Good for WSBK too.
Still I'd not rule out putting a quid on Kiyo &/or Haslam.

Have I missed some key part of the conspiracy theory as to how this helps Spies beat Haga tho?

It would need massive and permanently secret incentives to get them to let Spies through and block Haga .....
That's not all that likely (tho not impossible) cos its such a career showcase.

The reality is if they took the top two steps that helps Haga not Spies dunnit?
Spies needs space to close Haga down.
He doesn't need two wildcards scooping the points he needs more than Haga needs 'em.

A man who might be concerned about Donington is Tom Sykes. If Camier beats him by anything like a significant margin, it's not going to reflect well on him at all. He really needs to come away from Donington looking like the right choice for the ride.

I agree with you vrob, its seems that Camier is doing good on the the New R1 compare to Sykes, Camier could beat Sykes unless Sykes can dial his bike to work with his driving style.

An "all brit podium"? Not in this lifetime. Too many of the wsbk fold know how to go fast at Donnington. Not to mention that Spies has been there before so it would be real silly to think that he won't be on the podium at least once. Haga and Biaggi also. If it's wet, watch out fo Kyo...

This is awesome news for Airwaves,GSE,and James and Leon as well. But it also great news for the fans!!!!I know Colin will have his riders prepared for the challenge to come, and they are both excellent riders,so it will be a showdown in Donington. As for the factory to use James and Leon as blockers for Ben,I dont see it,you are putting to many riders in danger and its unproffesional!! Spies has plenty more races to come and will get his own points without help!! SO RACE ON!!!!!!!!!!!

JT PULLING FOR ELLISON,CAMIER AND SPIES,in this order,
just my hopes mates :)so dont get crazy on me

"Comparing haga's lap times on the old R1 from two years ago to Camier's this year with a wsbk spec 09 R1 isn't convincing."......OK, so how about comparing the race winning time from BSB last year to this year, Camier would have won last years race 1 by 21secs and Ellison would have won race 2 by 18secs. The lads have come on with the WSBK engine spec rules and as for the brit wild cards last year (2 in the top four in both races) they all ran the BSB spec engines so think of the damage they could do with the same engine spec as the rest of the field. Now im not saying they will run away with any of the races as the talent in WSBK this year is so high BUT it will make it exciting!!

I don't see how anyone cannot think that there won't be an attempt by the GSE boys to get in front of Nori and let Spies go. The Yamaha Italia team have given loads of support to the BSB boys and i would imagine that they will be more than happy to reciprocate. They are both Yamaha factory teams and Yamaha have never had a rider win a WSB title in their entire history of this competition. The GSE bikes are competitive and i think they might be able to run with the front boys. I hope i am wrong though and that things continue in the way they have between Nori and Ben, with little interference from those not involved in the title race.Horrible to be a fan of Nori and Yamaha at this time! :rol
