It seems that Alex and Tommy have learned how to be super fast without falling off. Alex was more than a match for all of the other riders today, and fully deserves his place in the showdown

Great to see Josh Brookes on the receiving end of what he usually dishes out.
It is a shame for Tommy Hill not having the machinery to defend his title but as i said at the beginning of the season the Yamaha in Evo spec would not be competetive and for sure all the bikes in the showdown willnow be running 100% legal Evo spec and Hill's bike will be slowest of the shootout competitors.

What on earth Byrne... He just had to keep the inside line closed, you don't have to worry about the exit out of luffield... Even if the other rider gets a good drive out the corner he still has to do a round the outside. That's pretty basic stuff, he just gave away the win. Hats off to Lowes though for fighting until the end and taking full advantage of what was a rookie error by a very experienced racer.

certainly epic, excellent to see the young guns up there ,ahead of much more expensive run teams, bring it on at Brands, still the best viewing of any bike racing in the world

I personally don't think Shakey gave the race away,Alex went for a gap that 9 out of 10 riders wouldn't of gone for.
Shakey wants the title as much as any rider in the shootout and he will not be giving anything away.
Lowes won the race,Shakey didn't lose it.

What's with Tommy Hill, he was winning loads of races before the Showdown? (I didn't see today's races.)

Shakey was well aware of Lowes' existence, he started taking defensive lines as early as abbey, and defended just fine until the last corner, where he bizzarely left a gap on the inside which could perfectly accomodate another bike. Props to Lowes for pouncing immediately - but the opportunity wouldn't have been there in the first place if not for a rookie mistake from Shakey.
