RESPECT HIM DUDES! He's done loads, taken loads of flak, made loads of progress, handled loads of pressure.

Why put him down? A guy can have a break if he feels like it. That is his personal decision. Back him up and support.

Tommy - Enjoy a well earned rest dude and relax.

re: "To succeed at some things in life you have to be selfish"

sage words.

re: "I have started to realise the difficulty and what funds it takes to allow me to excel from my current position and move forward with my career. I have spent several years now riding at my current level, and sacrificing everything...

Looking forward, this may come as a shock to a lot of people"

nope.

WOW what is happening at BSB ????? has Mr Palmer and Mr Higgs plans started to crumble around their little castle ? - There single ecu plan worked on the racing and the stopping Teams and riders move away from 'THEIR' Championship but it has also not really reduced costs! they give with one and and then take away. Results are clear over the last 3 weeks SHOCK 1- WFR pull the plug on Racing joined by 2 other teams in quick sucsession Van Craft and CN and theres more on the brink - Shock 2 a Rider of Tommy's class left with no possible way of improvement so takes time out ?? or retires ? I hope someone sees the light - I really hope Tommy does find a way forward in his/our sport and enjoys his new family life too - GOOD LUCK !!

You know what? Tommy is going to have a great 2013!
He has already worked with MSV on their Track and Race Academy so I could see him doing a lot of tuition.

Turn up at a circuit, get given a bike, ride around at 80 percent with chumps like me and go home in once piece with 250 quid in your pocket.

I had tuition with Neil Hodgson at Silverstone earlier this year and he was fully booked for the day.
35 pounds per session I think? 18 sessions is 630 quid gross so after the TD organiser takes their money and money for bike plus fuel it's a good way to make a living.

Tommy, if you're reading this, can I have two sessions at Brands GP and Snetterton, please?

Hill out, Shakey possibly off to MotoGP with PBM...the 2013 BSB season is starting to look a bit thin on big names. Pity for UK racing fans.

@Mason, Birdy's CRT bike is not career progression....name me a rider on CRT that has a better ride for next year? And by that i mean a bike that is either sattelite or factory not another POS CRT bike.

Gutted about this but i believe what Tommy has to say and i don't think it's fair to say if this and this happens and he don't take it then he is talking BS as neither you nor i know him well enough to make that judgement.

Tommy wanted WSB i reckon...finger's x'd Aprilia make him change his mind now that Max is no more
