What about those of us who can't afford eurosport, we now can't watch any super bike racing. Being on a pay channel will reduce viewer not increase them It would have been better on BBC or ITV even if it is on one of the digital channels.

I see where you are coming from Chu Chu but you can't beat watching the race live on TV/Circuit.

I personally find it never has the same appeal when it is recorded/downloaded.

No superbike viewing for me this year then. It was bad enough not having WSBK :( Watching it streamed over the internet is poor so I won't be doing that. Looks like it'll just have to be MotoGP. Shame.

The terrestrial channels just wont cough up though will they?

ITV could probably easily afford to match or beat Eurosport, they just don't want to. They would rather put on the latest reality/celebrity trash TV. They have more channles now with Freeview, which just means more crap at the end of the day.

As for Eurosport not renewing the GP contract, that would be pretty terrible. Toby Mody, Julian Ryder and Randy Malmoa are an excellent commentary team, providing far more in depth coverage than the BBC does. Plus I can't see the BBC showing more than very brief highlights of the 125 and 250cc races...

At least you don't have to subscribe to sky sports to receive Eurosport, so thats a bonus. I believe BSB will be shown on Eurosport2, i hope they lose that horrible news ticker tape along the bottom of screen, it makes the channel unwatchable.

BSB has become a football amongst the tv stations. 2 years ago - it was great in so much that I could watch BSB coverage live on Sky. Last year in came ITV with live coverage and Sky ended up with an extended highlights show. Now Sky concentrate on Nascar and ITV show their commitment by not extending by another year.

Although great for BSB fans with Eurosport - this is not good for freeview/terrestrial watchers and we will have another WSB/WTCC on our hands.

But what can you do if ITV wants to concentrate on F1 - you cant force these stations to show BSB!

I agree Andy, i've been watching a re-run of superbikes and moto gp when ive missed the races live and to my extremem nnoying and amazement along the ticker tape the actual result of the race i'm watching comes up! totally rediculous. I do hope Jack burnicle isn't commentating mind, i'm sorry but so far this season on WSBK i feel his memory is even worse than previous years. But at least we'l get to hear James Whittam explain to us, and Jack, that the ducati 1098 is actually and 1197cc bike yet again!

ITV did submit a proposal to MSV which would have seen five hours of coverage on Sundays on ITV4 - which is free to air on all platforms. ITV were also proposing to substantially invest in the quality of the production and bring in their own team to produce and direct it.

I heard that GP was looking to move away from Eursport and onto freeview/terrestrial at the end of it's contract so that it could gain a wider audience.
I'll be going to 6 of the rounds in any case so it makes no difference to me. You'd think there would be an overlap of bike racing on some weekends though given the amount they now have on their books.
