What about those of us who can't afford eurosport, we now can't watch any super bike racing. Being on a pay channel will reduce viewer not increase them It would have been better on BBC or ITV even if it is on one of the digital channels.

What a fantastic idea. Now terrestrial/freeview viewers only have MotoGP to watch. If JP's main interest is to get more interest in the sport, why put it on a channel where only die-hard fans are going to watch it?

Sky do packages as little as £11 a month that include Eurosport 1 & 2 (free dish & receiver) so there really is no excuse :?. I spend more than that within the 1st 5 minutes of being in the pub.

If your a bike race fan 11 quid every 30 days is **** all.

This is not necessarily good news; Eurosport already struggles to show all WSB & MotoGP rounds, particularly when they clash. What will happen when BSB is thrown into the mix?
Eurosport 2, as it exists at present, is unacceptable for showing any serious sport, with its too-small screen surrounded by undesirable and distracting news etc. When I am watching bike racing that is all I want on the screen!
And are Eurosport going to insist on directors who understand that the racing is of prime importance to most fans, not just the leaders?

Cubik Rube - er - Motogp going to terrestrial - it already is - it's called the BBC. I still prefer Eurosport's coverage for Motogp.

I wonder whether Motogp leaving Eurosport is about doing an F1 and padding out the show with 60 mins of inane chatter at the beginning ? I still think Motogp needs to concentrate on the size of its field - there aren't a great number of bikes - despite all the Rossi/Stoner hype.

Can someone on the inside tell us what happened with the ITV bid ? Was it too low for Mr Palmer or would BSB have to pay second fiddle to BTCC or was it the fact that it wasn't going to be on ITV1 anymore.

What a mistake, just look at what happened to the interest in Rugby and Cricket when it was no longer on terrestrial TV. The only reason James Toseland and previously Neil Hodgson were known outside Bike fans was terrestrial TV. A very sad day, and so shortsighted.

Aargh now I cant watch BSB or WSBK! Hopefully getting sky later this year but for now that sucks majorly, at least when I eventually do get it the coverage will be better than ITVs which was pretty poor in all honesty. The woman who interviewed everyone annoyed the hell out of me and they showed more of her than the racing most of the time.

Also to the person who said the BBC dont show 125 & 250cc, for the second half of last year they showed both live on BBCi, which is freeview channel 301 or 302.
Whether they are still doing that this year I don't know...

The ITV bid was a rubbish bid from the start - you would have thought that they didn't really want it, certainly weren't going to be putting anything into it. Probably not with all those F1 reporters, the Pre-race yawn.

ITV4! Come on, how many people actually know that it exists or they even have it!!

There is plenty of research done into sports marketing and they know what market penertration the various TV Channels have.

i know watching live racing is better but if u can at least watch it a few hourslater , it s better than nothing
