What about those of us who can't afford eurosport, we now can't watch any super bike racing. Being on a pay channel will reduce viewer not increase them It would have been better on BBC or ITV even if it is on one of the digital channels.

Got to agree with you there Chu.
Before bikes, I grew up watching the 'big three' - Senna,Prost,Mansell. They were generally great days for me (inc. Mansell Indycar).
However this year sees my 10th year of bike only transportation and my absolute love of 2-wheeled racing. The commentary teams on Eurosport are great entertainment and the show generally is bloody damn good! (strange breaks not withstanding).
Live or not, I hope Eurosport can cope with so much motorsport. Maybe a Eurosport3 is needed now? It gets my vote.
Television is a different world these days (digital an' all), I'm all for a specialist channel if it beats the usual fob off from traditional outlets (BBC take note).

The prospect of more Witham and 'Jack something or other' on Eurosport makes me want to give up biking and take up gardening. God save us from the know-it-all arrogant Yorkshire bore and his hopeless side kick. Did Witham ever win anything significant? Hmmm? Nope.

Without doubt a superb ( to coin a phase from kissball !) hat trick from eurosport. Definately the number one channel for motorcycle racing. WELL DONE a delighted two wheel freak ! ;)

very nice but why does eurosport uk have that annoying buzzbar
it just scrolls over and over with the same info, just does my
bloody head in, during the prog. it is so distracting and it has no
use whatsoever. you just watch it,

Got to disagree with you there Jacko.

Jamie Whitham (not Witham!) won the BSB title riding for Fast Orange Yamaha in 1993 and would have walked to the title in '95 if he hadn't contracted Hodgkins disease, a form of cancer. He also won in WSBK and WSS and numerous domestic races.

I find his commentary very amusing and informative, just as I do Parrish and Mamola

Well said ramjam. Got a lot of respect for Whitam afer he went back racing after fighting the disease. He had quite a lot of raw speed just a lack of funding and a whole lot of bad luck. Not many racers make good commentators but Whitam is very good, up there with Mamola and Brundle I like Parrish but I don't think hes quite as good. Seeing as Whitham and Jack do the WSBK for Eurosport and did BSB at the same time last year they prob will again.

Bobby-you forget about the peak of the Foggy era 95-99. 100000 people at Brands all built on the back of 40000 people watching WSB on SKY in those days. BBC only came along in 2000 when Fog crahsed & retired. Love him or loath him got more press and following than Hodgy and JT.
Saw another post saying ITV were going to take over all the production - lucky escape me thinks. Anyone else remember halfwit they had in 06-Agnus Scott ?? - Opening piece from Brands round 1 - "If like me you nothing about bike racing - stick around for the ride". Priceless
if ITV4 was the alt.- why risk sticking BSB on a channel that last Sat showed nothing else than Polce,Camera Action or Sweeney all day

Eurosport will show 4 hours live coverage on race days of Superbike, Supersport and R1 Cup plus on Thursdays a highlights package of 125's 600 and 1000 Superstock and KTM 990 SupeDuke races. Channel 4 will show a one hour highlights programme on Tuesday evening following the races. Channel 4+1 will show the same one hour later. Sounds like a pretty good package to me. This isn't Formula 1 where the TV rights are worth millions - the opposite is true - last year ITV paid nothing to show BSB and it cost around £2m to produce the TV package. I expect it will have been given away free this year as well. Be grateful - when I was a lad there was no racing on TV just a bit of the TT on the radio.
