GSE Racing will swap their Ducatis for Yamahas in 2009 after signing a three-year deal with the Japanese manufacturer.

Maybe its a case of which manufacturer will get them into WSBK! Plus if the regs match up for next season then that is 2 top teams developing the same bikes instead of one team developing it!

Hmmm. The big bang R1 looks interesting but to leave a factory that has dominated superbike racing (and has a cake walk in WSBK and BSB this year) for one that has never won WSBK and hasn't won BSB since 1998? Interesting and definitely will shake things up.

BEN, the only way haslam would ever win the BSB champ'ship is if the top six riders all left the series, so he was racing the likes of harris and co.

I wouldn't be surprised if Paul Bird Motorsport didn't take up the Ducatis in 09.

I think that Rob Mac will fold his team and retire. Who needs this sort of let down from a company you have supported for years?

ha ha - probably a good reason not to waste time/effort running Ducati's at WSB level as a wildcard when you know that they will be history to GSE by end 2008.

As an aside - i think this lack of wildcard rides has cost shakey big time - Sykes is the name mentioned in the paddock - not Byrne

I don't think Rob Mac is being kicked into touch , i believe Yamaha will offer him limited suport like this year.
He has just had such bad luck with Harris , if it weren't for bad luck he'd have no luck at all that fella.
