I worry that someone is trying to get a message through to Guy about the TT....he's had so much bad luck, but not the ultimate bad luck...

If he pins all his career aspirations on winning a TT race and keeps talking himself up, I fear that he'll pay the ultimate price. I hope to god not as he's obviously a top bloke, but I think he's overdone imself 2 years on the trot at Macau and if that isn't a warning I don't know what is....

Guidor, my wife and I were discussing the exact same thing only yesterday - stick to the race tracks Guy and build on your speed.

Who are we to tell him how to live his life? You only live once, so best to do what you really want to do. If the roads are what makes Guy tick then that's what's best for him.

Of course he knows the risk, just like Joey, DJ, and the rest, but when your time's up, it's up.

Respect him for ploughing his own furrow in life - you don't see that too often these days.

Good luck Guy.

I agree ith what 151 says, it IS up to personel choice/risk etc...... however I also agree with the previous 2 posts: Guy is a great bloke, approach him at meetings and he'll talk to you, talk to other "road" racers (John McGuinness/Ian Hutch) and they will tell you that Guy "pushes to hard" on the roads, both have had to take serious avoiding action to avoid crashing because of his "eagerness" to win. (John at NW200, Hutchy at Dundrod/Ulster GP) I have serious reservations about Guy Martin (road racing)not ONLY hurting HIMSELF, but also (God forbid...) taking someone else out BIG style. Having said that, hope he has a better season than 08, just "back it off" from trying 99% to the "usual"
