It's nothing to do with the recession - they have recognised that since JP bought the series, since all the best riders left, since Ducati withdrew, since no terrestrial TV coverage, since stupid meddling with the rules, the series is dying on its feet.
Don't blame em - I would do the same.

You cant blame MSVR for the lack of terrestrial tv coverage. ITV coverage was pretty poor and they spread themselves too thinly with their coverage of F1, BSB and Touring Cars. BSB always suffered when it was on the same week F1.

Benetts pulled out because they probably decided they had achieved their objectives and they wanted to save a few ****.

Yes next year will be intersting in BSB. Fewer big names but a greater opportunity for the next gneration to come through. I'm waiting for the critics to say that the 2009 champion is not a proper champion because he had less competition than in previous years

Bennetts would arguably be fairly stupid to throw good money after bad, they won't now get a much increased profile by continuing. Except, they aren't cheap - So they need to ask why do folk use 'em?

But WHY can't you blame MSVR for lack of TV coverage?
Last year's output was the worst for years.
And what did BSB do?
Nowt.

Contrast that with WSB.
Nothing on terrestrial TV. *Full* coverage of everything on streamed video on line.

Failure to sort exposure alone could send any sponsorship deal tits up even without this recession.

Sponsorship does come to an end, but with JP's bottomless pocket then BSB will be OK. Just look at the investments that he has made at the all the circuits, especially Cadwell Park, we still have porta loos which stink on a hot day and there isn't even a proper press office, which is that old bus and tent effort in the paddock. At least Mondello Park had real WC's

Wont be the same without Bennetts, felt the Babes last year were not so hot as the year before so perhaps that should have gone first might have saved a few pennies !
