I totally agree with Paul Bird''s comments. Although the current layout is not as good as the old circuit it is still enjoyed by thousands of motorsport enthusiasts.
Incidentally good luck to Birdy with his Kawasaki WSB effort.

Well said Birdy - this can't be allowed to happen, it's a truly ridiculous decision. And where did they get the figure of £150k from? What are these people being 'compensated' for exactly?

As stated above 'you couldn't make it up' If the above report is correct -the family moved into the house, next to the racing circuit because of a relative that work there and have won damages for noise polution - what did they expect living next door to a racing circuit, presumably the proximity was reflected in the price they paid for it?
It woould be interesting to see how the judgement came about!!!
This country is a complete shambles!!!
All that can be hoped is the circuits appeal is successfull and this family have to pay costs!!!

So they have a relative that works there but they're going to get the circuit closed down because its noisy??? And they'd then probably want compensation for losing their job!!
The lunatics really are running the asylum.........

Well said-totally agree with you and good for Birdy for coming out and saying it! Agreed sometimes he angers folk but he is passionate and speaks his mind which is in itself refreshing in this world of'coporate no personality types',so good on him-hope it gets some more coverage.
As for the folk that had the gall/cheek to claim it, then I hope that EVERY race fan who visits the circuit lets them know of their arrival-who the hell do they think they are? I was unfortunate to meet similar people to this in a pub local to Donington over the WSB weekend - the wife was maoninga bout the noise and pollution from planes and vehicles and aghast that the F1 was coming, despite choosing to move there!

Absolutely absurd!!!!!!!! This is what is killing local tracks here in the States. Some idiots move near a race track that has been there for decades and are made about the noise and go sue the track. If you don't like the noise than why move there?! The same goes for train tracks, highways, and airports - don't move near them if you can't stand the noise!

This is quite ridiculous, but somehow inevitable in this lunatic world we live in. How can it be right that someone moves in to a place next to a racing circuit and then claims against the circuit for noise - madness!!!

Croft is a super circuit, with Tracy and her staff all trying hard to make it as good as possible. They should be congratulated for what they have done rather than be threatened with closure!

If Croft goes, that means my local circuits will be Knockhill, Donnington and Oulton. It doesnt bear thinking about. Come on everyone, rally round and save this exciting and challenging track!
