Ellison sets sights on Camier

James Ellison insists team orders aren't a factor between himself and team-mate Leon Camier as he and his Airwaves Yamaha counterpart begin to break away from the chasing pack.

Ellison joins Camier on the front of the grid for the latest round at Snetterton after capitalising on a curtailed qualification session, brought about by changeable weather conditions.

A substantial improvement for Ellison, who had been struggling somewhat during free practice, the Donington Park winner is hopeful he can take the challenge to Camier during the races.

“No team orders have been mentioned,” he said. “When it comes to a race it is between me and him, everything else goes out the window. Leon has got the better of me the last two races, so I will be pushing to try and beat him here.”

“I wanted to try and get pole this weekend, but the lap times we were running were so close. I had an idea that Leon would pull a 1min 04secs out of the bag, so we were pushing for that but it wasn't quite there. We are happy with second place though and it is a front row for the Airwaves Yamaha team, so we just have to get a good start and run at the front.”
