Easton: I can really go for the Yamahas now

Stuart Easton plans to 'really go for the Airwaves Yamahas' after further consolidating his third position in the ViSK.com British Superbike Championship standings at Snetterton.

The Hydrex Honda rider led both races, including the majority of the first race, but was eventually overcome by the Airwaves Yamaha of Leon Camier on each occasion.

Coming away with a second and fourth place finish, Easton was pleased with his performance of the weekend, even if clutch problems towards the end of the day prevented him from making it a podium sweep.

“Overall, it has been quite a good weekend - front row start, a second and a fourth,” he told Crash.net Radio. “I thought we were beginning to get close to them, and we were in the first race, but I struggled with the clutch in the second race so I couldn't ride how I wanted to and I was forced to settle for fourth.”

Although now 22 points behind James Ellison in the overall standings, Easton has nonetheless pulled out a 37 point buffer to fourth place Glen Richards.

It means the Scot heads to his home round at Knockhill with the intention of doing everything he can to get the better of the dominant Yamahas.

“We're a good strong third in the championship and now I have some breathing space so I can really go for those Airwaves Yamahas,” he added. “To go to Knockhill third in the championship, my home race, I hope everyone comes to cheer me on. Hopefully I can give Scotland something to shout about!”
