SMT on cusp of BSB withdrawal

SMT Honda have revealed they will need a financial aid if they are to compete in the upcoming ViSK.com British Superbike Championship round at Mallory Park.

The team have been running as single bike for former Australian Supersport Champion Jason O'Halloran this season, but while he has posted a series of strong results – including four top ten finishes –, Knockhill could prove their final event together.

Indeed, team manager Robin Croft says they will need a main sponsor to fund the remainder of the season, starting with the very next round at Mallory Park in just over a week's time.

"As I stand here now though, this could well be our last meeting of the year as we're desperate to find a main sponsor that will see us through the second half of the season. In my heart of hearts I want to be at the next round at Mallory but I don't want to get in to a position of debt to be there so if anyone can help us financially, in whatever shape or form please contact me.

“As a team, we know what we're capable of achieving and we're desperate to keep our season going so, hopefully, we'll get the finance we need."

SMT Honda also run Adam Jenkinson in the British Superstock Championship.

Hopefully they can get something sorted. It would be a shame to lose them this far into the season.
