Camier eager to overcome Mallory hoodoo

Leon Camier is eager to put his current superb run of form to good use when he returns to one of his ViSK.com British Superbike Championship 'bogey' circuits at Mallory Park

Camier's relationship with the Leicestershire circuit has been mixed in the past, the BSB championship leader winning as a Supersport rider but struggling in the two years he has raced there on a Superbike.

Failing to finish any higher than eighth at last year's event, Camier admits Mallory Park has been 'horrendous' for him in the past, although he is determined to readdress the balance this year.

“The last two years there have been horrendous for me,” he said. “I've only had problems there on a Superbike. In 2007 the weather was so bad and then I had a big crash while last season, after machine problems in practice and qualifying, I was knocked off in the first race.”

“The circuit has a bit of a stop-start nature and that might be a bit difficult for us getting away from the slow turns, but, if I can't win, then I will settle for good points, though I really will be pushing for the wins.”

The Airwaves Yamaha rider has a 78 point lead in the BSB standings having won ten of the twelve races this year.
