Chris Walker will start from his first ViSK.com British Superbike pole position of the season at Mallory Park after translating strong practice pace into a third place grid position.

The Motorpoint/Henderson Yamaha rider had been a constant figure in the upper echelons of the order during free practice, never dropping outside the top six in the three sessions.

Comfortably making it through to the top ten shootout, Walker proceeded to battle it out for the a spot on the front row, eventually landing third, just two tenths off Leon Camier's pole position.

"We came here knowing we needed a strong qualifying position as this track is so hard to overtake, so the front row is mega! The bike is working well, we chipped away with settings and I feel we have a good race package.

“I want to try and stay out of trouble in the early laps and see how we look. Thirty laps is a serious work around here with lapped riders playing a part in the latter stages.”
