MCE announced as new BSB title sponsor

MCE Insurance has been named the new title sponsor for the British Superbike Championship for the remainder of the 2009 season and the next three years.

MCE take over from ViSK.com, which in turn took the place of long-standing sponsor Bennetts at the beginning of the season, after a contract was agreed this week.

For MCE, which was recently named Broker of the Year at the British Insurance Awards, the opportunity to join forces with BSB was an ideal platform for their brand.

“At MCE we are totally committed to becoming the UK's best motorcycle insurer and it has become clear that BSB offers an excellent opportunity for us to really understand bikers need, MCE director Julian Edwards said.

“These are exciting times for MCE and we are absolutely thrilled about being involved with the world's best domestic Superbike series. To celebrate our partnership with BSB, we have also launched Club MCE, giving existing and new customers money can't buy BSB opportunities, such as grid walks, pillion laps and walk the track tutorials with leading riders.”

MotorSport Vision's Jonathan Palmer was also pleased to have concluded a deal with MCE.

“I am delighted that MCE Insurance will be the new title sponsor of British Superbikes. MCE share our commitment to providing our respective customers with outstanding quality and value in the UK and I admire their determination and customer-focussed approach.

“With MCE's long term commitment to BSB we are really looking forward to working together and developing our new partnership.” said Jonathan Palmer, the Chief Executive of MotorSport Vision.

better to have a paying title sponsor than no sponsor at all. With Visk being part of the Motorsport Vision group they undoubtedly got their free publicity and the series was saved the embarrassment of going without a sponsor however if another company turns up with cash what company in their right mind would refuse the offer? Especially in the case of another large insurance company such as MCE.
