Ellison sets sights on Camier at Brands

James Ellison is determined to put on a good show for GSE Racing's home crowd at Brands Hatch this weekend as he attempts to close down the gap to Leon Camier at the top of the British Superbike Championship standings.

Ellison is currently 75.5 points adrift of Airwaves Yamaha team-mate Camier having closed the gap slightly following a second win of the season last time out at Mallory Park.

With twelve races remaining, Ellison is determined to get the better of Camier at Brands Hatch, not least because the event acts the home round for the GSE Racing-run team.

"I'm really looking forward to Brands Hatch. We've had a couple of weeks off from racing and I'm so bored. I can't wait to get back on the Airwaves Yamaha. The three race format is really exciting.

"I think it could go one of two ways for me. I can either use the extra race to my advantage and close the gap to Leon in the Championship. Alternatively, if Leon continues his winning form, he could extend his lead even further. Obviously it'll be my plan to go out there and win, especially in front of GSE Group's home crowd."

The Darkside seems to be on the nail again with this one. No one in the BSB is pushing Camier and as yet we don't know how good he really is. Because he had no real need to chase Brookes down at Brands, but did so anyway.
Now he is in a position that he still has no real need to go for it because he has such a commanding lead.
Camier is the class act and the rest are now playing bit parts. I don't even think he has been pushed to a lap record.
