Leon Camier says he is 'over the moon' after successfully reaching three milestones with his hat-trick of victories during the latest round of the MCE British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch.

Camier became the first person to score three BSB wins in one weekend at the Kent circuit following the series' inaugural 'triple-header' event, the victories taking his tally this season to 14, surpassing Niall Mackenzie's twelve-year record of 13.

Just as significant, Camier's triumph represents GSE Racing team manager Colin Wright's 100th BSB victory, while this was all achieved at his and the team's home circuit.

"I'm over the moon to secure Colin Wright's 100th BSB victory. To win the first ever triple, and beat Niall Mackenzie's record for race wins at my home round is really special.”

Camier was made to work hard for his victories though, each time being forced to fend off the attentions of World Superbike rider Broc Parkes, particularly in the final race of the weekend when a poor start left him as low as eighth.

Nonetheless, Camier would prevail on each occasion, his perfect points haul of 75 points increasing his margin over James Ellison in the overall standings to 113.5 points.

"Race one was pretty hard. Broc managed to build a gap at the start and I had to push to catch him. It was really hot out there and pretty greasy so I had to focus on being smooth and not doing anything too aggressive. I didn't actually mean to pass him where I did, but I pulled it off. I then got my head down.

“Races two and three were difficult. I had possibly my best ever start in Race Two. We don't have launch control on the Airwaves Yamaha, but I managed to get away at the front anyway.

“Then in the third race, I had my usual bad start and fell right back. I knew I had to get up to the front quickly else there'd be too much of a gap to make up. Once I was in the lead, I just had to get my head down and pull away. The crowd at Brands Hatch has been amazing, so thank you to everyone for their support."
