Karl Muggeridge was mostly content with a trio of top ten finishes on his MCE British Superbike Championship debut at Brands Hatch, even if he admits he was disappointed not to scale the podium over the weekend.

The Australian was making his first BSB appearance with the HM Plant Honda team, the World Superbike exile making a good impression through the free practice sessions before qualifying a solid eighth on the grid.

Getting a mighty start in race one to round the opening bend in second place, Muggeridge put up a good fight before eventually fading to fourth position behind Stuart Easton. He wouldn't quite scale those heights in the remaining two races either, Muggeridge settling for a further seventh and sixth place finish.

Nonetheless, the results represent an encouraging maiden outing for the former World Supersport champion, even if the man himself was disappointed to just miss out on reaching the rostrum at his first attempt.

"We've covered a lot of ground this weekend and really used the qualifying session for testing as I am obviously playing catch up at the moment. We've made various changes to the bike's settings and it has been pretty busy for us trying to find out what works for me. For the first race we went for a completely new setting with a different shock and link and that worked well.

“We made more changes, including new front forks and the front felt much better, and I am really comfortable now. My race positions are not where I want to be as I do believe I could have challenged for a podium, but it's early days and with a bit more time on the bike at Cadwell we can hopefully build on my three top ten finishes from this weekend and get on the podium."

Muggeridge is currently only contracted to race at Brands Hatch and the following Cadwell Park round following the suspension of Josh Brookes.
