Hill: Not what we hoped for...

Tommy Hill admitted that the latest rounds of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship hadn't gone to plan for the Worx Crescent Suzuki team, despite picking up a hat-trick of top seven finishes in the Brands Hatch triple-header.

Hill picked up fifth in the opening race of the weekend on Saturday and was keen to try and break into the podium on Sunday, but fell just short with fourth place in race two.

The podium position then looked a possibility in race three as Hill quickly climbed up to third, but he struggled to match the pace shown earlier in the day and could do nothing to prevent others coming through as he dropped to seventh.

"This wasn't the worst day, but it wasn't the best either," he said. "We made progress in the first race today and being so close to getting the podium really fired me up for that second race. But right from the start I knew it wasn't to be as I'd lost a load of feeling in the front.

"I knuckled down and I really didn't want to lose places but it was a very difficult race. Definitely, these are not the results we come racing for."
