Camier decimates opposition at Croft

Leon Camier continued to dominate proceedings following the second free practice session of the day at Croft, the British Superbike Championship leader almost a second quicker than anyone else.

Having set the pace in the opening session of the weekend, Camier was again in imperious form as he eased under the 1min 21secs benchmark with a lap of 1min 20.571secs.

By contrast, his closest competitors couldn't get any closer than two tenths to his FP1 time, marking Camier out as the clear man to beat this weekend.

Ian Lowry led the distant chase for Camier with the second fastest time, while Hydrex Honda's Stuart Easton and Confused.com Kawasaki's Simon Andrews ensured there were four different manufacturers inside the top four.

James Ellison, Camier's nearest contender for this year's title, ended the day fifth fastest having equalled Andrews' time, while Tommy Hill continued to impress on the second Hydrex machine in sixth.

Cup competitor Gary Mason maintained a dominance of his own in seventh overall, with Chris Walker, Josh Brookes and John Laverty completing the top ten.

Elsewhere, fancied contenders Ryuichi Kiyonari and Sylvain Guintoli were having a tough time, ending the session in 14th and 15th positions respectively.
