Former British and World Superbike Champion Neil Hodgson has revealed that he could make a sensational return to the national series next season.

Hodgson, who dominated the 2003 World Superbike Championship with Ducati, has been racing in the United States since 2005, but is yet to experience a similar level of success.

Now, after appearing in the paddock for the latest round of the British Superbike Championship at Croft, Hodgson admits he has always taken a keen interest in the series since he left at the end of his title winning season in 2000.

Furthermore, with Ducati and then Honda withdrawing their manufacturer support from the AMA Superbike series, Hodgson states that he is looking at the possibility of moving back to the UK for the 2010 BSB season.

"It is obviously good for me to be back in the BSB paddock this weekend, as this is the only round I have been able to get to this year between racing in America,” Hodgson, who has been struggling with a shoulder injury this year, told the BSB website.

“I always keep up to date with what is happening in BSB; every race I check up on the news on the internet to see who is doing what. I have to go back in two weeks to the States for an operation on my shoulder, but after that I will be looking at my options for next year.

“I have always said I want to come back and race in BSB; of the 19 seasons of racing I have done only five of these have been in the UK. It is a definite possibility to come back next year; it is just a matter of seeing what is available. It is one of my dreams to add another title to my CV!"
